Air Quality Visualization for Buildings and Cities

Surface indoor and outdoor air quality, pollution levels and ventilation performance. SensUrban visualizes air quality data from indoor IoT sensors and outdoor monitoring sources on a 3D digital twin — turning invisible air into a clear, room-by-room and street-by-street picture that anyone can read.

What you can visualize

Air quality becomes a visible layer of the digital twin, indoors and out:

  • Room air condition and quality from indoor IoT sensors
  • Indoor air quality index per room, floor and building
  • Analyzed building risks such as mold risk index and moisture risk areas
  • Ventilation and HVAC performance behind the measured conditions
  • Outdoor air quality and pollution levels across the city
  • Local weather conditions that drive both indoor and outdoor air quality

Why visualize air quality on a digital twin

Healthy Indoor Environments

Continuous, visual IAQ insight helps keep classrooms, offices and public buildings within healthy limits — and proves it to occupants.

Ventilation That Works

Seeing air quality and HVAC data together on the twin reveals whether ventilation actually responds to how spaces are used.

Early Building Risk Warnings

Analyzed indicators such as mold risk index highlight developing moisture and air problems before they become renovations.

City-Scale Air Awareness

Outdoor pollution levels on the city model support planning, communication and environmental health work.

How it works

SensUrban provides the tools, ecosystem and environment to deploy this application on a 3D digital twin.

1

Connect Your Data

IoT sensors, building systems, city services and open data sources are integrated into the platform via APIs — SensUrban is data-source neutral.

2

See It in 3D

The data becomes living layers on a 3D digital twin tailored to your city, district or building, running in a standard web browser.

3

Decide and Act

Real-time and historical views give operators, planners and decision-makers a shared, intuitive basis for action.

Frequently asked questions

What air quality parameters can be visualized?

Whatever your sensors measure. SensUrban visualizes room air condition and quality data from indoor IoT sensors — typically temperature, humidity and CO2-based indicators — plus computed indices such as an indoor air quality index and mold risk index, and outdoor air quality and pollution levels from city monitoring sources.

Where do the air quality measurements come from?

From IoT sensors and monitoring systems integrated via APIs. For buildings this is typically the indoor sensor network of the property; for outdoor air, city or environmental monitoring data sources. SensUrban is sensor-vendor neutral.

Can occupants see the air quality data?

Yes, if you choose to share it. The digital twin runs in a standard web browser, so a building owner can give occupants and other stakeholders an easy visual view of indoor conditions.

How does this relate to FeelPlace?

FeelPlace, a featured SensUrban customer, integrates its building IoT data — including indoor air quality — into a SensUrban 3D building model, co-branded as FeelPlace3D. It is a production example of air quality visualization on the platform.
